I recall an incident years ago on the London Underground when a child in the same carriage got anxious and shouted for his parents "what's happened outside?" Looking out of the same window, I could see what his fuss was about -everything was an inferno of vague swirling fiery shapes, with floating wisps of singed unrecognisable stuff. It looked like the end of the world - for a second.
The train had pulled up next to a poster, showing the vastly magnified topping of a pizza.
Good thing it wasn't a "crumpet".
