    I don't know if it's a known term in your part of the world, but "tat" jumped out at me: here in the UK this describes general purposeless ornaments, souvenirs etc (perhaps of low quality, usually kitsch).

    A word similar to "junk", except "tat" is not necessarily cheap. Its implication is: not really worth having at any price! Something to buy when you just want to buy something.

  2. Thanks Richard, I wasn't aware of that usage. Perhaps I don't watch enough British movies! So the visual abbreviation was unintentional. Also, the stuff in the window isn't for sale, it's "decor" for the tattoo parlor, a bit of spooky, a bit of goth, etc.
