Early Spring

Washington, Connecticut

It's been so cold the past week that the early blooming trees have been stuck in stasis and the later blooming ones are still in their winter state. The top picture is from the Steep Rock Macricostas Preserve, last Friday. The bottom one is from the Eagle Street bridge over the Naugatuck River in Waterbury's South End, yesterday afternoon.

Around Union City

Union City (Naugatuck), Connecticut

Connecticut is usually thought of as a "blue state" but in fact it's strongly divided between the larger cities which are Democratic and often elect the senators and governor, as contrasted with the rural and small town/city populations. The small towns are all hard red, the small cities are mixed.

For Earth Day

Winchester, Connecticut

An early morning snowstorm, and a windmill. at 7:35 this morning. If you click on either picture, with a large display you'll get a version big enough to see the snow.

Colebrook, Connecticut

A little research turned up the fact that this is one of two turbines in Connecticut's first wind farm. Two doesn't sound like much of a farm, but it's a start.
