Flag Shadows

Waterbury, Connecticut

Blue Boat

Derby, Connecticut

It's only a five minute walk to the public boat launch area where the Naugatuck empties into the Housatonic River, but I don't think this craft is going to make it.

Street Scene

Torrington, Connecticut

We're having an impressive weed season in Southern New England. I was finding a good angle for the hydrant and tall weeds when a car and a pedestrian entered the scene.

Millerton, New York

With and Without

Beacon Falls, Connecticut

Trying some high summer rainy day pictures yesterday, using a highway overpass for shelter. Unusual weather conditions have made for much more lavish vegetation than normal for southern New England.

As always, you can click in the picture area to see a larger and better presentation.

Warming Up (updated)

Washington, Connecticut

For several years now I've donated my services to The Washington Friends of Music to cover their concerts with The New Baroque Soloists, making pictures for their website and publicity distribution to local papers. This afternoon before showtime I was at the front of the classic New England Meeting House/Church where the concerts are held, getting a couple white balance readings and moving electric cords and other distractions out of sight for my pre-planned shooting positions. Cellist Samuel Magill was going over sections of his upcoming duet with keyboardist Ben Woodward, and I made this shot, sort of on sheer reflex. Just one frame. But I like it.
