A sign said it's the Holy Spirit Ministry, and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2019.

More Smoke Sky

 Waterbury, Connecticut

It was about nine o'clock in the morning, but the light has a weird sunrise-like color from passing through so much attenuated smoke in the upper atmosphere. The shopping plaza is about three quarters vacant.

Smoke Sky

 Waterbury, Connecticut

It was not cloudy or overcast around eight o'clock yerterday morning in Waterbury. The sky was pale and attenuated, just barely more blue than neutral gray. Views across the river valley were hazed over almost like a fog. It's nearly three thousand miles from western Connecticut to the West Coast wildfires, but the smoke is here. It's thicker in the upper atmosphere, but at ground level the air doesn't smell right.

Not what an overcast sky looks like around here ordinarily, because it's not an overcast sky.

Warm, sunrise/sunset colors infuse the smoke/haze view across the Naugatuck River valley, nearly three hours after sunrise.

Behind the Fences

 Torrington, Connecticut

Mostly I've seen these little figures (in a much less faded green/yellow eye-catching color) on lawns in suburban neighborhoods with the legend "SLOW" urging passing drivers to watch out for kids and pets.

Just part of an extensive in-town garden only a few blocks from Main Street. In WWII people had "Victory Gardens" even in dense urban areas. This made me wonder if this is a "Covid Garden" since I've walked down this street many times in years past and never noticed a remarkably large urban garden before.

Big Tire Tracks

Walkerton, Indiana. 2012

With a threatening midwestern storm sky approaching.

Bikes

Waterbury, Connecticut

Strange combination here. Two junky kids bikes, plus two much better quality road bike wheels.

LION SPORT GP

Waterbury, Connecticut

Even for a discard, that's the baldest tire I've ever seen outside of a racing slick.
