Carl, I have always been struck (and wondered in my own work) is it better having something entering or leaving a scene. These two are dramatic - in the first, form seems to dominate, in the second color is what struck me first (maybe because I saw the 'entering' first and already 'sense' the story. .....lyle
My guess is this is the sort of thing the guru-inclined will proclaim a rule for. I bet most gurus would declare the rule in favor of "entering" too. Me, as usual, I think it's best to just try it and see what works...
