Two Kings
Winsted, Connecticut
This place is, unapologetically, a junk store. Not an antique shop. Or shoppe. Just all sorts of used stuff. The hours are highly irregular, and I keep meaning stop in sometime when it's open to talk with the proprietors. The interior might yield all sorts of subjects, maybe also some fun portraits of the owners with the packed and stacked contents.

Lawyer on the Bus
Waterbury, Connecticut
As city buses turn more and more into rolling billboards, it seems that attorneys are among the most enthusiastic adopters of this advertising mode, at least in southern New England. I haven't traveled much in the past year so haven't seen how widespread this relatively new trend is. On my last several trips to Manhattan I saw the buses sprouting mural size ads, but most seemed to be entertainment industry related—movie releases or cable TV.
Overgrown
Torrington, Connecticut
Everything has been growing at a phenomenal rate this spring and summer here in Southern New England. The generally warmer weather hasn't been combined with the drought that plagues so much of the West. I want to do some research to see whether the remaining farms and many small scale gardeners are having a good year or not.

Ex
Waterbury, Connecticut
I remain a dyed-in-the-wool eye level viewfinder user, but having other options can prove useful. This truck is in a large fenced-in field, part of which is used by the city police to store impounded vehicles. I've done some shots using the chain link fence as part of the picture, but that didn't work in this case. Using the LCD of my Lumix GX7 tilted down 45° let me hold the camera above the the links and between the strands of barbed wire at the top of the fence. Even viewing against a bright sunny summer sky I was able to get a really decent idea of framing the picture, with the camera held eight feet above the ground.
