Not sure if you are asking about the truck or the man-hole covers... I take the man-hole covers as it adds to the foreground... but it is a close call.
Yes, truck and manhole covers, both, or either/or. I've never shown actual prints as diptychs or whatever, but I quite like blog posts with paired or grouped variations.
Carl, the thing that caught my eye is that the top picture is noticably warmer (at least it is on my tablet). Not sure if the light changed between shots, or it is just a slight shift in white balance.
Edd, the light changed—brightened—enough to affect the shutter speed and the auto WB changed by a tiny amount (5350/17 to 5300/16). Normally that would hardly be enough to notice, but I think the change of camera position altered the angle of reflectance from the brick wall enough to change the color rendering. I'm fascinated by the way light intensity and color change on a day with variable overcast. Much more dynamic than clear sunlight.
