Silver Sands State Park, 12/31/17

Milford, Connecticut

13°F with lots of wind. I'd wanted to take an extended hike along the boardwalks in the interesting winter light, but it was hopeless. I'd have needed arctic gear including real face protection. So off to a frigid beginning of the new year.

OK, so I’m looking at the top picture and thinking “That does look like an interesting place.” Then I had this thought. Is that nice white beach sand or snow?

I like taking pictures at the beach, but I’ve never even thought about the beach in the snow. Just doesn’t happen down here. I’ll bet there’s a whole set of beach-in-the-snow pictures out there waiting to be taken. When it’s warmer than 13 degrees.

Looks like you might be getting your chance real soon. Storm predictions aren't bad for southern New England but look pretty dire both north and south of us.
