Photo Shoot
New York, New York
The guy, the girl, and the fellow cleaning the door glass all seemed oblivious of each other. The other guy having a snack is the only one paying attention.

Shepaug River at Hidden Valley
Washington, Connecticut
Hidden Valley is part of Steep Rock Preserve. We've been getting a lot of rain. Out in early fog and mist this morning working on the fourth of my "Steep Rock Four Seasons" platinum/palladium print folios. The low-hanging, heavily-leafed branches and the swollen stream say "summer" pretty clearly, I think.

HERMES DELIVERY SERVICES
New York, New York
Classical reference. Although when I first saw it I wondered if it was a delivery van for luxury goods.

DAWN at Grand Central
New York, New York
DAWN Wildlife turns out to be an environmentally oriented dishwashing detergent promotion campaign, that's been going on for forty years according to the web site.

MOVEING
Naugatuck, Connecticut
If the new address seems a little strange—Rubber Avenue?—Naugatuck is the ancestral home of the Uniroyal Company, and of course, Naugahide.

Pair of Billboards
Waterbury, Connecticut
Seems like another odd pairing. The gradsoflife.org board is a public service announcement. But that Subway ad, wow. Off-putting to a vegan/vegetarian of course, but I really can't see it being very appealing even to a meat eater. The wraps and fillings look like plastic replicas, sort of like the awful posters you sometimes see at cheap Chinese take-out places. You'd think an organization the size of Subway could manage to get some decent food photography, but I guess not.

'Scope
Torrington, Connecticut
The factory building has been vacant for years, but I've never seen the telescope there before.

Uniform Store
Torrington, Connecticut
The blog has been on vacation for a few days, partly because of a really bad heat spell that kept me from shooting, along with some computer/printer problems that now seem to be solved.

W.C.
Pawling, New York
Purveyors of stuff has a nice ring to it. While this place looks a touch on the casual, not to say dingy side, it's just half a block off the main drag. There, the eateries are kind enough to display menus, which show prices that would be right at home 80 miles south, in mid-town Manhattan. Because it's right on MetroNorth with a station in the middle of town, it's been an upscale commuter exurb for decades.

Steep Rock Spring
A new gallery at my web site, the third in a "Four Seasons" set of folios—pictures made at Steep Rock Preserve in Washington, CT. They are 7.3x11 inch platinum/palladium prints.
Here's a link to "Steep Rock Spring, 2018."
KWH
Derby, Connecticut
No, I don't know what the initials indicate. The entire first page of a search on them refers to kilowatt hours, which I suspect is not relevant here.

Ear Buds
New York, New York
Not to sound like my age (about to turn 69) but doesn't living your life listening to—well, it could be music, or talk radio, or an audio book for these three folks, who knows?—sort of interfere with experiencing your actual surroundings in real time, especially the soundscape? I've never been able to get those earbud things to stay hooked up to my ears even while sitting still, which may actually be a piece of luck.
