The rolling in clouds have an almost alpine quality. When I was a kid, my favourite mountain hikes always were those leading through clouds and seeing them from above. Hiding the "normal" world is still somewhat attractive to me.
Markus, these are nowhere near alpine heights. What's going on is there is a large "clamshell" (270 degree bend in the river) and fog rising from the water filled the whole valley at dawn. It was finally rising and thinning out enough for some pictures at this point.
