This is lovely. The other Meeker Swamp shot is nice as well, but I really like this less traditional Autumn-color shot.

Thanks, ed. We've had strange weather all summer and the fall colors are more sparse and subtle than usual here. Quite a different look to work with.

I love that red that sumacs get in the Fall. A lovely series of Autumn shots. i thought of Eliot Porter on a couple of them.

James, I think Porter would have loved the control, power, and subtlety available in today's digital capture and printing. Web images only hint at what you can do in the print. Not that his dye transfers weren't superb, but what can be done now, in his hands...
