Not to sound like my age (about to turn 69) but doesn't living your life listening to—well, it could be music, or talk radio, or an audio book for these three folks, who knows?—sort of interfere with experiencing your actual surroundings in real time, especially the soundscape? I've never been able to get those earbud things to stay hooked up to my ears even while sitting still, which may actually be a piece of luck.

Tongue-in-cheek-mode off: It certainly interferes, but many people don't see this as a disadvantage but rather prefer to live in their bubble.
