Ansonia, Connecticut

In normal times Ansonia wouldn't be exactly bustling around eight o'clock in the morning, but the emptiness was quite palpable early today. I don't think it was the dark weather after a rainy night that was keeping people away.

Loudspeakers at the Ansonia city hall continually play what seems to be a mixtape of 70s-80s pop and soft rock music. From the sidewalk, it's like walking past a Pilates or Zumba studio, even early in the morning.

If you’re viewing on a substantial screen, you can always click on any picture here to see a much larger and more legible version.

A Gatorade delivery to the Rite-Aide is clearly an essential service.
