On a very quick little overnight expedition. These are all from the G3, in-camera JPEG files, no modification other than size and color tag converted to sRGB. If I could work with the Raw files I'd be opening up the shadows quite a bit but they don't look bad as is.

Now you're in my old stomping grounds. Of the 21 years we lived in VT, I spent 15 working in Middlebury and photographing in the area. Nice to see the sumacs are still as vibrant as ever. The G3 looks like a winner.

I tried to comment earlier but probably screwed up the entry. I lived for 21 years in Vermont and worked in Middlebury for 15 years. Great to see familiar places, and my favorite weed to boot!
Now you've got me looking at the G3 too, looks great for my upcoming trip.

James, we were on the road for two days, found a crazy-wonderful motel (built in 1940) in Barre, VT, many of whose features are a little under the weather, but the WiFi was in fine shape so I could toss up a post. Only caught what came through in email and comments before we left early this morning (but not without the provided breakfast, starting at 6:30, and including make your own waffles. First time I've seen that in all my travels). If you go back, stay at The Hollow, at the south side of Barre. Wonderful.
James, I'm noticing on the m4/3s section of getDPI forums quite a few people don't like the ergonomics of the G3. Some of it is just changed button positions but some people think it's too small to get a grip on. I'm not really finding that, even though I have large hands. It didn't take long at all to find comfortable hand positions for holding it. Still something to watch out for. It worked very well on my VT trip but I can't get a real handle on file quality until the next release of ACR comes out so I can work with the Raw files.
