The stalled Spring conditions continue, cold and dark all day today. Plus the pollen counts remain high and I seem to be particularly susceptible to whichever subset of pollen is around at the moment. Not only is it too cold to get my darkroom up and running, but my allergies are giving me enough trouble to interfere with doing much of anything else. I can't remember being quite so impatient for the season to change.

Carl, I seem to be lucky (or successful) in terms of allergies this year: I am in my second year of a desensibilisation treatment and I am extraordinarily happy to have nothing but the slightest annoyances out of the pollen, which are high at the moment in Bavaria, too.
I had tried this treatment decades ago without success, so it took some persuasion from the side of my allergologist to make me start a second attempt. And in spite of my multi-allergies, this year the success is better than in my wildest dreams.
Markus, that's great to hear. My pollen allergies are just a low grade nuisance (except for two times while traveling when I had extreme reactions to local, unaccustomed allergens. At the moment it's just enough that I've had to skip my daily walk for a couple of days now--no point hyperventilating the pollen.
Yes, spring, please come soon! Yesterday here in Nebraska we had the lowest high temperature on record for the date, and the lowest low 22.
I've been doing my share of sneezing too! ;-)
Temperature soared today to 75°. I expect all the spring trees will have a completely different look by tomorrow morning. Also began the process of getting the darkroom up and running, should finish that tomorrow afternoon. But then we'll likely get your cold weather in 2-3 days.
But ... it's a nice photo with duck swimming in the beam of light and the corresponding opening of the woods!
;-)
Such a peacefull "Ententeich". I hope at least the ducks aren't allergic ;-)
Just a lovely composition. My best friend has bad allergies and lives in West Cornwall, so he is going through the same thing as you. Keep shooting while the woods are so soft and subtle.
The flowering trees have come out strongly in the warmer weather but right now the sky is clear and the noontime light is very harsh. If it clouds up later on I should get some more tree pix. Pollen count is 10.9 out of 12. Sniff.
