Thanks, Marcus. The light was particularly wonderful that afternoon. Everywhere I looked the subjects seemed to glow.

The building you're facing was part of our old elementary school (we moved to the new one in '88, I believe)! Part of that parking area acted as a playground suitable for dodgeball or falling in potholes. On the other side of the building was the "better" playground with actual equipment. Still hurt if you fell, though.

Thanks for the details. The building's construction was clearly a school, quite similar to the one I attended in NJ back in the 50s. I also recall a large blacktop playground behind that school that sent plenty of kids to the nurse with skinned knees and elbows.
