Edd, five or six years ago I made a springtime trip down the Blue Ridge and over to Little River Canyon in Alabama. Driving the Blue Ridge Parkway, each rise and fall from valley to peak would move through time from early to peak springtime foliage and flowers. Only problem was that in the process I must have been exposed to every pollen allergen in North America, all at once, and I came down with a debilitating attack of allergies. Normally I'm only a little bothered by springtime pollen. A trip moving northward to extend the season is certainly feasible.
I really like these photographs, one could spend ages thinking about them. I think it is the white and the black shapes which provide the punctum, at least for me.
Thanks, Juha. One of the things about this early spring moment is that color is beginning to appear but the strong shapes of bare trees are still fully visible.

Carl, I am enjoying your Meeker Swamp series and look forward to more. I am surprised at how far behind spring is there compared to here in Virginia.
I love this time of year for photography--maybe a slow trip northward could extend the season for quite a few weeks.
