Carl, this seems to be a case where reality by leaps and bounds exceeds photoshopping...

I would never have assumed such a lamp to exist in reality.

Markus, what I notice about it is that it probably goes all the way back to the 1950s, while this primitive shopping center has had numerous facelifts to the store facades in the intervening decades. The lamp reminds me of the "Googie" architectural style that was wildly popular as decoration for drive-in theaters in their heyday. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find this at a 60-year old drive-in theater, but it's startling at the entry to a strip-mall in a small city.
