Naumkeag
Stockbridge, Massachusetts
We took a little excursion today, up to Naumkeag. We hadn't been there for years and there have been really major restorations to both the house and the incredible gardens since our last visit. The formal gardens are gorgeous but not my kind of subject, but I did find a couple things to shoot out on the rougher outskirts, under the apple trees.

Fire Hydrant Located Behind

There seemed to be construction everywhere I looked this weekend around Murray Hill.

City Trees/Weeds, East 30th Street
New York, New York
I really can't tell whether the little sumac-looking thing is in some sort of planter on the faux-balcony, or if it just seeded there along the railing by itself.

Parking Lot Tree
Southeast, New York
Heading down to New York for the weekend workshop, I missed the train I wanted because of highway problems, so ended up having to kill some time in a shopping center parking lot near the train station. At least the strange hazy atmosphere was kind of interesting.
PHO PASTEUR
Naugatuck, Connecticut
Off later this morning to New York to teach my "Digital Platinum" workshop at CAP/Penumbra over the weekend. Should get to make some snaps around the city along with the workshop duties.

Back at It, More Prints this Morning
This pretty much finishes up my "first look" Pt/Pd prints I wanted to make from pictures made last October on a short trip to Virginia and West Virginia. Prints are made with a palladium and traditional platinum mix, no contrast agent, on Hahnemühle Platinm Rag paper.
Coated sheet and digital negative on Fixxons film, set up in the vac frame (the stick supports the glass/frame top because the pneumatic lifts have long since worn out).
Vac frame pad is drawn up tight, ready to flip up against the light unit for exposure.
Four minute exposure under way.
"Palomino, Birch River, West Virginia," (there's a horse at the top of the hill on right) . 7x17 Korona Panoramic View with 305mm G-Claron.
"Goshen, Virginia." Evening view along the railroad tracks looking north up the valley, 8x10 Deardorff with 240mm Apo-Sironar S.
"Goodwill Baptist Church, Bland County, Virginia." Along Route 42, a little white church in brilliant midday sunlight, hilly pasture land in back. 8x10 Deardorff with 240mm Apo-Sironar S.
Flag with Commentary
Torrington, Connecticut
The large flag is displayed in the window of an empty storefront. The commentary comes in the form of stickers applied to the window.

More Printing
Made some in-progress snaps again while printing.
Template to mark out the coating area.
Negative and coated sheet set up in the bed of my vacuum frame, waiting for the pump to pull things tight.
Vac frame swung up against the UV lightbox for exposure. Prints from earlier in the week are flattening between two sheets of plate glass on the counter. Four minute exposure has just begun.
