Naumkeag

Stockbridge, Massachusetts

We took a little excursion today, up to Naumkeag. We hadn't been there for years and there have been really major restorations to both the house and the incredible gardens since our last visit. The formal gardens are gorgeous but not my kind of subject, but I did find a couple things to shoot out on the rougher outskirts, under the apple trees.

Perhaps you may return with your large format cameras? I sense lovely pt prints coming...

Maybe. I don't generally respond photographically to really fantastic gardens because I find them too "done." Nothing much for me to add; the gardeners and landscape architects have done all the work and I'd rather just enjoy their accomplishment than make photographic footnotes to it. But it's only about an hour and a half away, so pretty easy to take a run at it.
