Convenient Store

Adams, Massachusetts

In fact, convenient no longer. The building has been condemned, unfit for occupation.

Wow. I really like this one. I've been sitting here trying to figure out why it jumped out at me so strongly.

I think, maybe, that it's the line from the bottom of the frame back to the building that hooks my eye in at first. Then I get all the horizontal lines and the color contrast of the building and the fireplug, and all the rest.

Hmm. I need to look at it some more.

Thanks, ed. For some reason the little building has a lot of presence. I've been aware of it for at least twenty years. I go through the town of Adams every now and then on my way to other places, and it has enough interesting buildings, and a setting between two high ridgelines, so it's always worth a little look around with a camera. On this recent visit I thought a bit more about "getting" the Convenient Store since it's quite likely not to be there the next time I find myself driving through Adams.
