The Libertyville image is wonderful for my taste - I like those delicate brown tones and the different structures, also the a bit mysterious pole, cut off from all signs about its purpose so that I had to think a bit longer - nice trick to postpone gratification!
How very strange, did I get to your site maybe from online photographer? It's been on one of my opened browser tabs for day and I have never quite got around to looking until tonight. After looking at this top bunch I noticed you were shooting in Ellenville and environs.
40 years ago I was living in Stone Ridge and High Falls (teaching at Rondout) and 30 years ago I moved to Europe never to return to the area. Winding up 15 years ago in London I took up photography and developed a certain urban landscape sensibility which is not dissimilar to what you're doing here.
I found your shots enjoyable both photographically and for the memories they brought up. Felt like I was there.
Thanks Markus. I like the way the wall and the round pole all get sort of flattened in this arrangement.
Eric, glad you came by and that the pictures bring up memories for you. I find this a fascinating place. You mention Rondout. About twenty years ago I did a series of pictures in Kingston, NY. Over at my web site, on the galleries page there's a page from the project: [http://www.carlweese.com/kingston.html]
