Really? I can't tell you how many times I've driven down the highway wondering where I could buy a restroom from! :) Seriously though, if I needed one, it would be too late by the time I'd actually bought it too.
Carl, I have no doubt that about one in, oh, say 50 million people who pass that sign will be in the market for a pre-fab concrete restroom. The market must be served.
It's even a bit more crazy. There were three or four of these between Torrington and Winsted, towns about a dozen miles apart. There's a parallel limited access highway less than a quarter-mile away, so nobody uses the old two-lane road for anything but local traffic.
The state parks service is the only customer I can think of...no wait, there's one of these on the overlook on top of nearby Thomaston Dam, so I guess the Army Corps of Engineers is another hot prospect for business.
