Scarecrow Follow-up

Litchfield, Connecticut

One of the amusing and at the same time socially relevant "stories" among the scarecrows. Click on the image to see a clearly legible version.

Halloween Scarecrows

 Litchfield, Connecticut

Tapping Reeve was the first law school in the U.S. and survives today as a museum on South Street in Litchfield. Along with interactive tours and other features, for the Halloween season the lawn and meadow are home to fifty scarecrows. Each has a name and a "story" printed on a card. A rainy foggy morning seemed like an ideal time to take a tour of the grounds. Scarecrows were contributed by families, local businesses and community groups.

Shopping Center Dawn

Waterbury, Connecticut

Click on any of the pictures for a much larger and better view than the front page. In the third picture, made four minutes after sunrise, a group of Waterbury Police recruits are on a training run on the city streets. I suspect that along with physical training a goal is to familiarize them block by block with the community.

Shopping Center before Dawn

Ansonia, Connecticut

Now that sunrise has advanced to about seven AM I've resumed my pre-and-post-dawn photo sessions, looking for additions to a series of shopping center pictures I made last Spring.
