Jazz Camp

Washington, Connecticut

This evening was the first of the open-to-the-public concerts by the faculty of the Litchfield Jazz Camp, held in a spectacular new auditorium on the campus of The Frederick Gunn School. The improvisational performances on four jazz/blues standards were wonderful. An hour and a quarter of intricate and brilliant playing.

St. Anne's church, Good Friday Stations of the Cross procession, 4/15/22, full set

Waterbury, Connecticut

Friday I went to several places in the Naugatuck River Valley looking for pictures of the early spring flowering trees. Leaving my car in a Waterbury strip mall and heading for a long block of South Main Street where I knew there was a decorative row of pink flowering trees, I found something far more interesting. A Good Friday, Stations of the Cross procession, described in yesterday's post. As I expected yesterday, I've found some more pictures of the activities that I think are worth showing.

Click on any of the pictures to see them all with much more detail and information.

These were part of my 'schoolwork' project on religious ritual.
