From Inside Out, I

New York, New York

Reflections are often fascinating. A lot of the pictures here, especially the Shop Windows series, look at the way window reflections interact with the view through the window. A rainy morning in New York last weekend got me looking at what happens when you are on the inside, looking out, but also seeing reflections back into the room behind you.

The truck almost seems like a ghost, like it is translucent and not reflecting. Is it the light blue color of the truck? very cool....

Lyle, yes, the blue is the color of the truck. Click on the picture to get the larger view and it will be a lot easier to read. I'm sitting with coffee and a bagel at the window counter of "Bread & Butter" and behind me, reflected in the window, is the activity around the breakfast prep counters. If you stare for a little while your eye can tune out the direct view through the window and do a much better job of "reading" the reflected image floating on top.
