Setups

Princeton, West Virginia

Normally, clear sky and bright sun is not my favorite shooting situation, but after days on end of extremely dull overcast and landscapes that are obviously, visually, blighted by drought, yesterday was a relief to have bright light and plenty of subjects to respond to it. These are a few of the large format shots from the day. Lots of digital capture as well. Heading out again today for a last shoot of the expedition with freshly loaded film holders.

I really wonder how people react to your setup ... do many approach you and ask about the camera (I certainly would) or do they think you are up to no good? Or think you are some kind of geometer?

Greetings from the German state of constant dull overcast rainy weather from October to March!

People ask, but not as often as you might suspect. Perhaps they don't want to risk being uncool. Sometimes people are more suspicious of what I'm doing out in the countryside than in urban environments, don't know why.

Thanks for these views....I have driven by Princeton, on the way to the south Carolina coast from Ohio, probably two dozen times along I-77. That rugged country is engrained in some of my very earliest memories of long car travel. I've always wanted to stop to experience these mountain towns, but never have.

Martina, John has similar problems to me, typing on a phone. Big thumbs, small phone, many typos...

*lol*

I thought he might be emulating some NYC dialect - something the non-native speaker simply doesn't get.

However - if there doesn't exist a verb "to qork" we should definitely establish it. I qork. You qork. He/She/It qorks.
