These three in the foreground were the ones who got the event listed online, brought a giant package of water bottles for everyone, and led the call and response chanting of classic civil rights slogans and some new ones targeted at recent events—"I can't breathe" and "show me some respect, get your knee off my neck."
Demonstrators listed the names of those lost to police violence, either in signs or in chalk on the sidewalk.
