High Water Again, 9/25/23

Washington, Connecticut

Lots of rain and high water in the Shepaug River at Hidden Valley Preserve.

Those high water photographs are interesting, especially the last one where the curve of the tree supports the impression of the current's strength. In this one we have also a very nice distribution of water effects, from the compact current in the foreground over that overflowed table to the wave crowns in the background. I could imagine those three images as a horizontal triptych, where the eyes have space and reason to wander.

Thanks, Markus. On each of these, especially the last, I shot a lot of near identical frames specifically to be able to choose the best water patterns.
