Judging from the titles on the marquee this must be a fairly recent photo. And a restaurant, no less.

I particularly like the glimpse of the screen in this photo. It reminds me of passing by drive-ins in the car at night when I was a kid. To be sure, most screens faced away from the road, but it was always exciting to get a brief look at the movie on the screen as we passed by.

Edd, yes, this was 2007. The place was doing very well and had just remodeled the restaurant. One of the basic facts of running a drive-in theater today is that any profits will come from the restaurant/concession, not from ticket sales. The most successful operations offer better food at lower prices than chain restaurants.

Unlike hardtop theaters which consistently charge gouge prices for candy and popcorn, the drive-ins almost always feature bargain food prices and then make their profit on volume.
