Well, this is the ultimate reduction to functionality - something all couples that become family try to avoid: without success at least in this case, it seams.
It's so strange. Perhaps the couple designed their own headstones (in which case there is something vaguely narcissistic about it) or someone - a son or daughter perhaps - reduced these two individuals to their roles as parents. Very odd.
