I presume that the founders of the Electric Supply Co were originally from Ulster - on of the 4 historic provinces of Ireland. It's the sort of company name we often see here at home.
Frank, in fact Kinston is the seat for Ulster County, New York. Many towns and counties here are named for places in "The Old Country," with place names from the British Isles and Germany in particular being frequent. I grew up in Essex County, New Jersey, and live in Litchfield County, Connecticut.
