I'd guess it was one of three large trump signs in the field and the perps only had nerve enough to get one of them before driving off. Getting all three would be take uncomfortably long time even on a small country highway.
Surprisingly there are few political signs this election season. Those that are up do disappear. We have lost four signs from our house this month. I think it is children who take them. We live near a grade school.

I've noticed assessing the particular value of having the Trump name on something, is quite a contentious calculation though (grin)
