Color Photograph

Litchfield, Connecticut

Wednesday's ice storm made for some very subtle color effects, as at this garden center at eight in the morning. Colorless and drab seems like a good theme for today.

A familiar feeling... but landscape like this has a kind a beauty nevertheless.

Juha, I imagine you get more of this kind of light being so far north.

Well, everything is relative. I used to live 550 km north of Helsinki, and this time of the year the length of day is there over an hour shorter than here.

But also here in Helsinki the sun does stay quite low on the horizon even at noon. And if there is heavy cloud cover, not a lot of sunlight gets through.

However, then there is snow on the ground it is very different compared to the darkness without snow.
