River, Rock, and Ice (and update)

Washington, Connecticut

Late last December we had a cold snap followed by several days of gradual warming. These are perfect conditions for river ice to form in fasciating shapes that constantly change as they grow and then melt away.

Update: four weeks now after my back injury I've healed quite a bit but have a long way to go. I still can't stand or sit upright for more than a few minutes. That basically means I can't *do* anything for more than about five minutes or so. Another two or three weeks will likely be needed to get more or less back to normal. Then I'll have to deal with recovering from 6-7 weeks of forced inactivity.

Good to read that you can move at least for short periods of time, Carl. From today's image I deduce that your vision has not suffered from the fall ;) so I am looking forward to you getting better and resuming to create photographs.

All the best wishes for a thorough healing process - Markus

Just take it slowly, like I think you are. This too shall pass.

So nice to read the "usual" Carl :-)

Take it slowly, like Jim said.

I am glad to hear you are making progress -- albeit slowly. Hang in there, and thanks for the update. (And the photos!)

thanks for all the good wishes. Things are improving, but frustratingly slowly.
