Autumn Forest, One

 Litchfield, Connecticut

After strange summer weather that was poor for many crops in southern New England we now have a subdued autumn color season. Lots of leaves are just turning gray and falling off. Even swamp maples, usually brillian crimson, are only getting medium red. Tuesday, 10/10/23, clouds coming in during the afternoon promised soft light in the forest so I went up to White Memorial Conservation Center for a walk in the woods with camera and tripod. Instead of complaining about it, I'll just consider the autumn display as...subtle.
