Very much to my taste, Carl, especially color-wise but also in terms of the iuxtaposion of that brick structure and the shapes of the plants. Are these Himalayan balsam (Impatiens glandulifera)?
Thanks, Markus. I don't know the name of the plants but they are increasingly common invasive weeds around here. I've heard them referred to as oriental bamboo. Whatever they are, they can take over an abandoned area almost as fast as kudzo.
