The haze from the Canadian wild fires is still here today—two views from the top of Thomaston Dam.

We have strange atmospheric conditions and official air quality alerts here in northwest CT, because of the smoke from the wildfires in Canada. It doesn’t look like normal humidity haze, more like urban smog. We went for my birthday lunch to a wonderful Thai restaurant that is incongruously sited in an otherwise almost deserted strip mall shopping center that probably had its peak in the sixties. The diffusing pall is visible even at short distances.
The big farm field at Three Rivers Park, which must have been mowed yesterday, also looks unfamiliar in this strange light.
