Hidden Valley

Washington, Connecticut

About one o'clock this afternoon, deep into the hiking trails at the Hidden Valley section of Steep Rock Preserve. There was a hard freeze overnight and a cloudy day with temperature in the 40s°F gave a magical, glowing light for the whole three hours I wandered around the trails.

A delicate, fine capture.

I had a look at the history of the place. There was a railway connection etc., if I understood it correctly.

Juha, the trains are long gone, but some of the hiking trails follow the old roadbed and there's an impressive, and somewhat spooky, tunnel cut through solid rock ledge. I'll post a shot of the tunnel entry.
