AUTO SALES

A couple blocks west of the Town Green. The clock tower in the background is a local landmark and is being restored, scaffolding all the way up the east side.

The clock tower's design seems to be a direct 'borrow' from Siena, Italy - so far as can be seen...?

Looks like it was inspiration. The tower was built by Seth Thomas, a famous American clockmaker located in Thomaston, the next town north of Waterbury on the Naugatuck River. The tower was originally part of the RR station. There's now just a platform for the few MetroNorth trains that still go through, and the local/regional newspaper has taken over the building for its offices. More than you need to know:
