On the Izu Peninsula, Japan, 1969
During the IHP traveling scholarship, students usually stayed with local families, either individually or by twos or threes. While we were based in Tokyo, two of the families and their four visiting students, including me, made a weekend driving trip south to tour the rural Izu Peninsula and stay overnight at an inn near the harbor at a tiny fishing village.
