Green Spring, Red Spring

Woodbury, Connecticut

Mixed rain and snow on a Saturday morning, 4/18/20. Spring colors just becoming intense. The willows and hayfields are turning yellow and green. I'm always surprised how much red there is in the very early budding trees and wild growing fields. Click on any picture for a larger and clearer view.

The willow tree is always beautiful, but especially so in spring.

Yes, this time every year I make repeated loops in the car with a (rarely used) long lens to visit a mental list of willow trees and track their progress through spring. Especially if I get cool misty morning lighting conditions.
