For the first time in several years, we’re offering the “Traditional Platinum” workshop at Penumbra Foundation in New York on May 18-19. This is an all-analog workshop. We’ll begin by making a set of eight new pictures with 5x7 inch film using the Penumbra studios and rooftop for locations. Each student gets to pick one or two subjects (portraits, still life, views from the roof, etc.) while I operate the venerable Agfa/Ansco 5x7 and demonstrate how to expose properly for the process. Then I’ll demonstrate pyro development of our new pictures and for the rest of the workshop participants will learn to print their new pictures in Pt/Pd, and can also explore our archive of negatives from previous workshops.
The workshop is set to run but there are still some places open so if this sounds like fun, get in touch with Molly at Penumbra to sign up.
